On this day back in 2018, we spoke with Kira Magrann about her Lynchian card-based RPG. From the archives is The Independents: Something Is Wrong Here. You can now buy Something is Wrong Here at itch and IPR!
Discussion of the Week
Which is a good example of a “Kitchen Sink Setting” done well in TTRPGs?: This is a fascinating discussion which took a turn I didn’t expect; at first, I thought commenters were taking the piss a bit when Pathfinder’s Golarion was the top-rated response. But then I saw that /u/LeVentNoir wrote this comment about Warhammer Fantasy’s setting:
“[the setting] doesn’t feel like a kitchen sink because it’s all painted from the same tones, it’s all built out well, and it’s matched up on all the edges. It’s aesthetically consistent, despite having wildly different cultural elements in places. That’s why it’s not a kitchen sink: it’s not thrown in with everything and the kitchen sink.” Definitely some food for thought the next time you look back at Torg or Rifts.
