Asmodee to saddle over $920 million debt as parent company splits in 2025: Following on with earlier announcements from April of last year, Asmodee is set to take on a good chunk of debt from the split of its original parent Embracer Group. Private equity gonna private equity, and it remains to be seen whether Asmodee is better equipped to service the debt or if it’s the chosen sacrifice on the altar of capitalism.
Possum Creek Games to become an imprint of Steve Jackson Games: In strange yet wonderful news, Possum Creek Games is set to become an imprint of Steve Jackson Games, with Jay Dragon taking on a Lead Game Designer role and Ruby Lavin Art Director. What gaming goodness could come out of a marriage between the minds behind Wanderhome and the minds behind GURPS? We shall find out soon enough.
From the Archives
The fascinating news of Possum Creek and Steve Jackson Games coming together needs to be accompanied with a reminder of just how different the two companies have been. From the archives this weekend is a review of How to be a GURPS GM, a good intro to the design philosophy of GURPS as well as a must-read for new GURPS GMs. Also, incidentally, a good indication that GURPS is nothing like, say, Sleepaway.
Discussion of the Week
