It’s not quite as good for our purposes as PAX Unplugged or other tabletop-centric conventions, but PAX East in Boston still has plenty of things to check out for the roleplaying, card, and board gamers of the world. Running from today May 8th until this Sunday May 11th, PAX East 2025 has some familiar games, some new opportunities, and plenty of tables you might want to take a seat at.
Unsurprisingly the IPR booth at TT63, run as usual out here by Pandemonium Books and Games, is going to be the single biggest seller of TTRPGs, and thus the one with the most games that you can use a CHG article for when deciding whether or not to buy. You can find the full list of what they’ll be selling here, but as for the reviews:
Swords and hearts will race with Thirsty Sword Lesbians, as well as supplement Advanced Lovers and Lesbians that CHG contributor Maria chipped into!
Small adventurers are returning to their hometown after playing a humble but crucial role in the fall of the Doomslord – will they make it Back Again from the Broken Land?
Fall into the game world of your old TTRPG campaign and work through some Stuff in the world of DIE.
Try to win fame, freedom,, and unlimited wealth (no, really, we promise) on Deathmatch Island!
Drop into 1943’s Paris with your fellow vampire commandos and tear a swathe through fascist scum as you Eat the Reich!
Pick your weapons, push the limits, flourish your capes whenever justifiable, and be the one to declare “I Have The High Ground!”
You can track down some documents among the infinite stacks as The Librarian’s Apprentice – watch out for the Scriptwyrm.
Tired of adventuring? Retire from the life with your comrades, get your hands on some property, and try running a tavern and adapting to a new life with Stewpot.
You could get a shift at the No-Tell Motel and try to solve a murder!
While they’ve both gotten the second edition treatment by now, but you could also check out Agon and Improv for Gamers.
Oh, and uh, you may also find yourself Lost Among The Starlit Wreckage.
Among all of the other Tabletop Expo exhibitors, one that immediately jumps out is Jason Anarchy Games at Booth 10062, from which we got Drinking Quest, Newfoundland Jam, and Self Careless.
There is also a Deception Zone, which among other misleading games you can find sessions of Blood on the Clocktower.

Of course, games that we’ve reviewed aren’t the only things worth checking out. You really ought to check out that Exhibitor list; I intend to swing by 9th Level Games (10105) and Goosepoop Games (10108) at the very least, and I’m doomed to once again be captivated by the dice offerings at Gemhammer & Sons (11114) . Thirsty? You could grab a cup of tea (or a mug of coffee, I guess) at the Many Worlds Tavern in Booth 11061.
You could also play some TTRPGs with outfits that are running them. You can visit Baldman Games in Hall C – Tabletop for D&D and then the RPG Zone for Gehenna Gaming for Horror, Pathfinder Society, Games on Demand, and the Alexandria RPG Library. The latter also offers games to borrow, acting like a TTRPG-only version of the Tabletop Library, which is also a good thing to check out.
If you want to be on the cutting edge and check out games that are only just seeing the first light of day, there’s First Look and Unpub!
As for me, I’ll be there today and Saturday, running around on the media circuit. Plus, if you swing by Games on Demand at certain times, you might get to play Transit: The Spaceship RPG or Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast with me! You can find the full GoD menu with all GMs, games, and times here.

Check out some cool games, play some cool games, and have some fun! See you there!
