Not the oldest article ever dredged from the archives, but How Do You Become An RPG Publisher? can make for an interesting read given some things that have happened since. It’s interesting that R. Talsorian and Steve Jackson Games are both mentioned in the intro, given that R. Tal (and Paizo) are now aiming to publish other designers’ games and Steve Jackson has brought Possum Creek into their fold.
