Top News Stories

Rascal doubles in power with two new voices: Originally founded by Lin Codega, Rowan Zeoli, and Chase Carter in the wake of TTRPG journalism getting wiped from sites like Polygon and Dicebreaker in a wave of layoffs, Rascal took an undeniable hit when Codega took the chance to “professionally writing about traumatized gay vampires” (who wouldn’t?) and left the site. Now Zeoli and Carter have got some reinforcements: Caelyn Ellis, who is another former Dicebreaker contributor who has already chipped in at Rascal in the past, and Thomas Manuel of the Indie RPG Newsletter, the Yes Indie’d podcast, and previous Cannibal Halfling contributor!

From the Archives

To prove that we knew Thomas… well, not before he was cool, he already was, but before he was a Rascal at least, here’s his article Find Catharsis and Get Payback with Capitalites, looking at “a coming-of-age, slice-of-life tabletop roleplaying game about a group of young adults living in the big city and figuring out who they are while trying to get their shit together.”

Discussion of the Week

RPGs that have made you a better player/GM: THe more games you read, play, and run, the better off you’re going to be when it comes to playing and running in general, and this thread tries to catalog some particularly useful examples.
