Discord files for IPO: The end is nigh! Discord is evaluating the option to go public, selling the company onto the stock market. If this were to occur, a pivot towards profit-seeking by the platform is almost inevitable, beginning the downward spiral described by Cory Doctorow as ‘enshittification’. The best case scenario is that the company doesn’t go through with the sale, which as stated in the article is a possibility.

From the Archives

This time about eight years ago (jeez, that’s a phrase) we were reviewing the first supplement to what I still consider the most intriguing cyberpunk PbtA game. From the archives this week is the review for The Veil: Cascade. After having run a game using the Cascade supplement, I can say designer Fraser Simons had a ton of ideas packed into both books, and they made us think, which is a good thing to say about any game but especially a cyberpunk one. Unfortunately, the second Veil supplement, Inheritance, looks like it died in development hell. Here’s hoping for an improbable comeback.

Discussion of the Week

Since we’re talking about GURPS, GURPS saved my marriage: As is implied by the title, there have been a few GURPS discussions on Reddit this week, but this one combines two subjects near and dear to my heart: GURPS and playing TTRPGs with your partners. That said, if you want to do what the poster describes, I recommend that, like him, you do so under the guidance of a therapist.
