What Are The Current Freelance Writing Rates In The TTRPG Industry?: Russ Morrissey (aka Morrus) over at ENWorld has released a new survey of TTRPG industry writing rates, updating similar work he did back in 2015. The survey had over a thousand respondents, and there’s a number of graphs and statistical nuggets shared from the findings. The mean rate for freelance TTRPG writers in the survey was 8.5 cents per word. While this is low, it represents a significant increase from the same benchmark in 2015, which was 3 cents per word. If you’re interested in more insights, ENWorld released a podcast on the subject this morning UK time
Discussion of the Week
Support for the Baker family: Meguey Baker was diagnosed with breast cancer in July, and will be undergoing surgery next week. Although the Bakers are the designers of Apocalypse World and arguably the parents of Powered by the Apocalypse, indie RPG design is a tough way to pay the bills, and they could use support from the community. Thank you to everyone who has already been so generous.
