Top News Stories

WotC ends distribution with Penguin Random House: Wizards of the Coast announced they’re ending the distribution relationship with Penguin Random House for Dungeons and Dragons, instead shifting to Hasbro internal distribution for mass market channels like bookstores. It’s still unclear whether this move is going to expand or contract the amount of retail presence that D&D has; whether or not it becomes more difficult to find D&D in bookstores and bigger retail stores like Target and Walmart, this is likely a margin preservation move instead of a strategic one.

Discussion of the Week

But what if I don’t like violence?: The issue with violence being intrinsic to RPGs has certainly been discussed before (including by me), but it’s refreshing to see a discussion thread in such a broad group as r/RPG come up with so many good talking points and suggestions, including some trad games which aren’t as dependent on combat as D&D or Cyberpunk.
