Help Owen KC Stephens fight cancer: Owen KC Stephens is a game designer and game design freelancer par excellence, co-creating Starfinder and Star Wars Saga Edition and contributing to multiple editions of D&D, Pathfinder, and numerous other RPGs. Now, though, Owen is fighting cancer that went undetected and untreated for years, and as a freelancer who buys his own medical insurance he’s having a tough time financially. Follow the link above if you want to support Owen;  he’s contributed a lot to the modern RPG scene and could use the help.

From the Archives

It was in the news this week that Modiphius bought the rights for an RPG adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld. Now, Modiphius has an uneven track record with their licensed games, releasing the well-supported and well-regarded Star Trek Adventures but also the Fallout RPG, which was not only released unfinished but also ignored all of the Fallout lore from before the Bethesda games. Whether or not Modiphius does a good job with Discworld, though, there is already a Discworld RPG out on the market, powered by GURPS. Is that a good match? Hard to say. Still, dip with me into the archives and check out our review of How to be a GURPS GM to make sure you’ll be prepared for gaming in Discworld even if Modiphius botches it.

Discussion of the Week

What’s your weird GM confession: I don’t know what’s more interesting about this thread, the ‘confessions’ or how widespread some of them are if you know enough gamers! I personally identify with many of these, including a secret love of underprepping and a disdain for character backgrounds.
