TTRPGs for Accessible Gaming Charity Bundle Launches: An itch.io bundle hosted by Jes Wade with 318 games from 139 community creators for a donation of $10 or more is running to support DOTS RPG Project! From the Project’s own site:
“We have created our own Braille Polyhedral and Fate dice and are continuing to translate various rulebooks into Braille. The goal of the DOTS RPG Project is to empower blind and visually impaired folx as well as individuals with other disabilities to run, play, and experience the magic of TTRPGs with complete independence.”
The Bundle itself is for funding the production of their Braille dice to the point that they can be available in a worldwide retail setting, greatly expanding their reach. It includes games like Paris Gondo, Soft Focuses, and Goth Borg for a total value of ~$965, and has raised more than half of its $20,000 with 29 days to go!
From the Archives
To bring more people to the hobby you need to put in the work. The Bundle is doing just that. Between their example and the Project’s mention of Fate dice, this weekend’s archive dive is an easy one for another notable such effort with our review of the (then-Prototype) Fate Accessibility Toolkit.
Discussion of the Week
Looking for the weirdest and most obscure TTRPGs: While the subjective nature of the ask must be (and is) noted, one can’t deny that it is very on brand for CHG. There are indeed a few names readers could recognize from our archive like Night Witches, Agon, Conspiracist, and DOGS by way of Dogs in the Vineyard. There are a few more that we recognize by experience, like the inimitable (thank goodness) Dallas, and a few we recognize via reading habits like personal favorite Jonathan Frakes Wants Your Attention, And You Must Not Give It To Him. There are tons more that are completely new even to us!
