Welcome to the Cannibal Halfling Weekend Update! Start your weekend with a chunk of RPG news from the past week. We have the week’s top sellers, industry news stories, something from the archives, and discussions from elsewhere online.
DriveThruRPG Top Sellers for 9/6/2025
- Daggerheart Corebook
- Legend in the Mist – Core Book
- Cosmere RPG | Stormlight Handbook
- Ashes Without Number
- Warhammer: The Old World Roleplaying Game Gamemaster’s Guide
From the Archives
This site has been going for nearly nine years, and in that time we’ve learned a thing or two. Now that we’ve been doing the System Hack series for quite some time, it’s an appropriate time to look back on one of the first outings on game hacking with, admittedly, some humility. From the archives this week is Level One Wonk: Rules Hacking, and though the advice in here isn’t bad, per se, it’s definitely clear that the world of system hacking goes far, far beyond what was covered in this article.
Discussion of the Week
DTRPG needs to change: The discussion is partly about DriveThruRPG, yes, but primarily about the waves of low-effort AI spam which are crowding the platform, the same phenomena that makes, say, searching for ebooks on Amazon profoundly useless. A moderation policy on AI isn’t necessarily an easy ask, but remember to filter your sources by creation method, and to contact customer service if the ‘handcrafted’ label is incorrectly applied.
