Top News Stories
It’s Zine Month!: Yes, we’re covering Zine Month in Crowdfunding Carnival, but it’s still big news for the month of February and many of you want to go to the source. Check out both Zinetopia on Backerkit and Zine Quest on Kickstarter for full lists of upcoming zines. Do keep in mind that Backerkit’s cross-promotion is in full effect, with rewards kicking in as soon as you back at least five zine projects.
From the Archives
February is usually dominated by zine discussion, and with good reason. We do sometimes manage to turn our attention away long enough to get a proper review ot the door. From the archives this week it’s our review of SLA Industries 2e, a solid return to form for this sci-fi horror ‘splatterpunk’ RPG.
Discussion of the Week
Your favorite TTRPG is now the most popular and influential game – how does this affect the industry?: A lot of the answers here are a bit silly, but I think it’s an important thought experiment. D&D being as dominant as it has been for as long as it has been completely changed the entire video game industry, as one example. Broad-spectrum popularity of a TTRPG can have immense spillover, and it’s something that really only D&D, Vampire: the Masquerade, and maybe Cyberpunk have really experienced as brands.
