Wizards of the Coast Refuses to Recognize D&D and MTG Creators Joining Union: Surprising absolutely no one, Wizards of the Coast has refused to voluntarily recognize the creators of Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons joining United Wizards of the Coast. The next step is a union election overseen by the National Labor Relations Board. As a reminder this was the same set of steps that happened when United Wizards of the Coast first formed with MtG: Arena workers, with Wizards initially refusing to voluntarily recognize and then having to recognize the union after an election. For now, United Wizards of the Coast is continuing to ask for support through signing their petition, located here.

Discussion of the Week

I wish more RPGs told me what happens on an ordinary Tuesday: Interesting thread that covers desires and recommendations for downtime, details, and even just subsystems that aren’t entirely and directly about adventuring. For what it’s worth, having ‘ordinary Tuesdays’ in your game may be helped by having downtime mechanics and the like, but it’s also highly dependent on your players wanting to sit in the quieter moments. I feel like my main group is appreciating this more, but there’s still a lot of ‘rush to the next adventure’ which is pushed both by player motivation and sense of urgency, whether created by the GM or inferred.
