MTG: Arena workers vote to unionize: After a push that started back in April, the developers of Magic: The Gathering Arena have successfully voted to form a union, with a strong 83% of workers in favor of unionization. The next step is for Wizards of the Coast (and Hasbro) to recognize the union, and then from there for the two sides to agree to a contract.
Finland adds tabletop role-playing culture to its National Inventory of Living Heritage: Finland has added ‘role-playing culture’ to its National Inventory of Living Heritage, a UNESCO-supported collection of key elements of the heritage for each signatory country of the Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The inventory listing highlights not only the long history of roleplaying in Finland, but also Finnish language games like ANKH and events like Ropecon.

Back in the pandemic, we were all at home and, occasionally at least, had time to think big thoughts. For us, that sometimes meant thinking thoughts like ‘why are experience points so common in games’ and ‘why do so many D&D fans think all games have levels’?
