Aki and I are both wandering around PAX Unplugged this weekend – Aki already put out a great guide to both the con and to the surrounding area, and I’ve been sending artificial intelligences up against a ‘ghost ship’ with Games on Demand. We’ve been quite pleased to run into a series of familiar names this year, so here’s a short list of booths we think you should definitely be checking out if you’ve made it to the con.
R. Talsorian Games

On the Cyberpunk RED side of things, aside from everything current RED and a fair amount of 2020, there’s a free peek at what we’ll be seeing with the Edgerunners Mission Kit. I now know some things that I have literally been told not to share here yet, but what I can say is that there’s art from Studio Trigger itself, 2077-style quickhacking, Power/Tech/Smart weapons, and new cyberware, just to cover some bullet points. We’ll definitely be talking about this twist on RED in the future, but in the meantime you should definitely swing by and grab the preview.
As a bonus in that same sneak preview is a look at the project-formerly-known-as Blue Moon, now revealed as Shadow Scar, from Cody Pondsmith.

You’ll play reality hopping agents trying to stop the minions of the fallen goddess Izanami… but Aki is taking point on this one, so I’ll leave digging further into it to him. In any case, check out Booth 3322!
Possible Worlds

The subscription box may have run its course, but all of the many games from Tyler Crumrine are independently available at Booth 3927. Obviously I remain partial to Grandpa’s Farm, but all of the formerly-boxed games are good, and that’s not even everything that’s available.
Gila RPGs
If you have Time To Kill (or, frankly, even if you don’t) you can swing by Booth 4137 to check out all things Spencer Campbell.

There are a lot of Illuminated by LUMEN games from the system’s creator to be found here, and I have to say: this is my first time seeing these games in a physical format, and they look good.
Possum Creek
You can get Wanderhome, you can get Sleepaway, I mean it’s Possum Creek, you’re going to get good games if you swing by Booth 4209.
But you can also get a look at the physical version of Yazeba’s Bed & Breakfast a very respectable number of months before its projected physical release in February 2024. If you’re at the con but have still been sitting on the fence about Yazeba and co., swing by and let your eyes feast upon it, and I think you’ll end up on the right side of that fence.

Jason Anarchy
A con is a wonderful time for a Drinking Quest… or making some jam. Even considering how much farther DQ on its own has come since the last time I reviewed it, there’s an entirely different sub-genre of Jason Anarchy Games based on webcomics. Born, says Jason when we were chatting at Booth 2650, of time spent at many conventions and just happening to meet creators, you can find games based on tiny snek and the works of Cassandra Calin.

You will, in fact, get to see more of both of those soon enough with a glimpse into the vault…
NerdBurger Games

If you’ve got some Good Strong Hands you might just be able to pull off some Capers and get away from Booth 4250 with some excellent games from Craig Campbell and company…
Is there more to see? Come on, look at the header image. I’m sure I’m even missing a few booths that we’ve looked at the contents of before, even (I just added NerdBurger because I missed them on the first pass), but we’re only so many meatmechs with a lot of ground to cover. What you’ve got here, though, is a good start, with some of our past reviews as proof that a visit to these booths is worth your precious convention time.
